Designed for simplicity
- Start of a new era in the area of CT for Shimadzu in
- benchtop CT system with a high output of 160
- Clear observations of molded plastic parts as well as aluminum die cast parts and other metal parts
- Image quality and functionality on par with high-end models
Shimadzu, one of the world leaders in analytical instrumentation and testing equipment, is proud to announce the European launch of its innovative XSeeker 8000 benchtop computer tomograph. This marks the company’s first foray into the European industrial CT systems sector, building on a rich history of experience in Japan.
The XSeeker 8000 ushers in a new era for Shimadzu in Europe. Designed for simplicity, it is the smallest, lightest benchtop CT system in its X-ray output class. It is equipped with a high-output X-ray generator and a high-resolution flat panel detector. Despite its compact size, the XSeeker 8000 is a powerful system with a high X-ray output of 160 kV. This makes it an ideal solution for the analysis of small-sized components such as plastic moldings, aluminum die casts and other metals directly next to the production line.
- Improves inspection of both surface and near-surface areas Conventional ultrasonic flaw detectors provide good results starting from 1–5 mm, whereas the MIV-X easily shifts the starting point of accurate perception to the surface. This makes it ideal for analyzing peeling of coatings.
- High image quality and functionality on par with high-end models The offset scan layout extends the width to approximately twice that of conventional cans, resulting in an input resolution equivalent to 5.6 million pixels. The system provides high accuracy scanning across a wide 100-mm diameter field of view size.
- – Ease of operation and fast results The system is optimized for inspections, offering a 3-step scanning process and operation at the push of a button, with scanning taking as little as 12 seconds and high- speed reconstruction calculations.
In addition, the newly developed XSeeker control software provides high operability and the highest throughput to date.
With clear image quality and high throughput, the XSeeker 8000 supports applications in a wide range of situations, from detailed observations in product development and quality evaluation to inspections at machining sites.
Web summary
Shimadzu has just released the XSeeker 8000 benchtop X-ray CT system. The new system is the first step in Europe for industrial CT systems, looking back on a long history of experience in Japan.
The XSeeker 8000 is a small CT designed for simplicity, which is unique for the high X-ray output with regards to the size. Providing high-class images on par with high-end models, an easy operation and fast results, it’s a perfect match for analyzing small-sized components of plastic moldings, aluminum die casts and other metals directly next to the production line.
